About The Bannister Hotel & Yacht Club

Located on the shores of the majestic Samaná Bay and close to the main points of interest of the Samaná Peninsula, this destination is ideal for rest and immersion in nature. The area offers an unforgettable experience, with access to more than ten pristine beaches, scenic trails, National Parks of extraordinary beauty, and just minutes away from one of the most important marine reserves in the country. The Bannister Hotel takes its name from Jack Bannister, an English corsair who rebelled against British authorities and, in 1690, engaged in a naval battle from two ships against English frigates off the island’s coast. This historic event led the area to be known as “Cayo Bannister, ” later renamed Cayo Levantado, a destination now visited by thousands of travelers each year. The hotel opened its doors in late 2010 with a fresh and distinctive concept in the northern region of the Dominican Republic, blending casual luxury with a spectacular natural setting. It features 30 elegantly appointed suites offering breathtaking views of the mountains, the marina, and Samaná Bay—creating the perfect atmosphere for a refined and relaxing stay.
